Flip4Good is proud to welcome Dr. Klarissa Castro to its Board of Directors. A clinical therapist and interior designer, Klarissa brings a powerful, trauma-aware lens to the environments in which people live and heal. Her expertise in design psychology and human-centered space planning has shaped therapeutic and residential environments across Los Angeles, always with one goal: to help people feel safe, seen, and supported.

“Klarissa has been a champion of our work from the beginning,” said Erika Brulé, Founder + CEO of Flip4Good. “She deeply understands trauma-informed design and brings that understanding to every conversation and decision. From how she shows up for our team to how she translates research into real-world strategy, Klarissa brings both vision and depth. We’re lucky to have her in this role.”

Klarissa’s professional background spans clinical care, end-to-end design, and strategic outreach. She is the founder of Design Shrink Studios, where she leads trauma-informed, research-backed projects for clients across sectors. Before establishing her design practice, she provided therapy and psychological assessments to hundreds of clients, deepening her understanding of what truly makes safe, healing-centered spaces.

“Joining the board is an extension of the values I live by daily,” said Klarissa. “I believe space has the power to restore or retraumatize. I’m here to help Flip4Good keep centering that truth—and to build environments that give people a real foundation for recovery and growth.”

Klarissa holds a Psy.D. and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, as well as a B.S. in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago. She is certified in Design Psychology and is a Women in Healthcare and NAWBO member.
