The Midnight Mission

Join us for an impactful day of transformation! As a Flip Volunteer, you will play a hands-on role in turning transitional housing into a warm, welcoming home for its new residents. Your efforts will be pivotal in creating a nurturing environment using trauma-informed design principles, ensuring that every detail contributes to the resident's comfort and security. This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in someone's life, one thoughtfully designed space at a time.

LOCATION

The facility is located in the southwestern region of Los Angeles. To protect the privacy and safety of the residents, the exact address will be provided upon registration.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Move and Assemble Furniture: Help bring the design vision to life by setting up beds, tables, chairs, and other essential items.

  • Hang Artwork and Decor: Add the finishing touches to the space with artwork and decorative elements that create a homey atmosphere.

  • Make Beds: Prepare beds with fresh linens, ensuring a cozy and welcoming space for the incoming residents.

  • Organize and Arrange: Assist in organizing household items and arranging furniture to maximize functionality and comfort.

  • Clean and Prep: Ensure all areas are clean and ready for the resident's arrival, adding small touches like flowers or welcome notes.

  • Collaborate with Team: Work alongside other volunteers and Flip4Good staff to ensure the project runs smoothly and efficiently.

  • Quality Check: Participate in a final walk-through to make sure every detail is perfect and meets our high standards.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move furniture and other heavy items.

  • Team Player: Strong collaborative spirit and ability to work well with others.

  • Attention to Detail: Eye for detail to ensure everything is placed perfectly and looks inviting.

  • Commitment: Available to be onsite for the entire duration of the Flip Execution Day.

  • Passion: Enthusiasm for Flip4Good’s mission and a desire to contribute to meaningful change.

The HomeLight Family Living Program at The Midnight Mission supports families experiencing homelessness in greater Los Angeles. The Midnight Mission believes everyone deserves a healthy, happy, and dignified life, essential for true recovery. With over 100 years of experience, The Midnight Mission emphasizes self-sufficiency through accountability, providing a clean, safe, and supportive environment for families to rebuild their lives.

 

Established in 1994, the HomeLight Family Living Program offers 11 fully furnished apartments in a safe area of Los Angeles. This program serves as a haven for families affected by abuse, addiction, poverty, and homelessness, offering a path to a healthier, self-sufficient life. Families typically stay for one year, receiving comprehensive support, including mental health therapy, job preparedness, and family reunification.
